They say you can’t judge a book by its cover. Well…we know that’s not always true (check out this great site, and you be the judge). There was a lot of black, a lot of champagne, a lot of hilarious jokes by the crazy host Kitty Flanagan, and of course, a lot of well deserved awards presented at the 59th Annual Book Design Awards night – held at the Australian Technology Park, part of the historic Eveleigh Railway Yard (Eveleigh Artisans Market is held here on the first Sunday of each month – a lovely little market housed in one of the blacksmith’s workshops).
Reuben Crossman, appearing remarkably relaxed, stole the limelight with his stellar design of Quay (and we were delighted to find this book in the goodie bag at the end of the night!). Kudos to both him and Murdoch, huzzah!
