mini-break

The slightest whiff of a weekend getaway and I’ve downed tools, packed my bag and I’m waiting by the door. The power of the mini-break is not to be underestimated – only a few hours out of town and you’re worlds away. Newcastle was invisible under a heavy shroud of fog in the morning, only to give way to a sparkly jewel of a day a couple of hours later – the perfect day for climbing to the top of a mountain in Tomaree National Park to survey the stunning coastline, and an impressive fleet of whale watchers. Clutching onto these memories as I wade my way through the workload this week.
